Older Windows systems require the driver in order to play DSD. On all operating systems, the DAC2 and DAC3 must be placed in USB AUDIO 2.0 mode to play DSD and high sample-rate PCM. The DC-1, XDA-2, and the USB Stream Input on the XMC-1 need the WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS for older Windows 10 - The EGO DACS need drivers for ALL WINDOWS VERSIONS BEFORE WINDOWS 10 CREATORS EDITIONS - The USB Inputs on the PT-100 and TA-100 DO NOT NEED DRIVERS (they are USB Audio Class 1 devices) - The USB Input on the XDA-1 DOES NOT need drivers.

The Unbalanced output can be configured to be 4.0V RMS so it can drive a 500W subwoofer to clipping.
Headphone Output: 2.10V RMS measured into impedances ranging between 81 ohms and 6000 ohms.
